This page provides information on how to delete your Vysya Setu account and the consequences of account deletion.
How to Delete Your Account
Option 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)
- Open the Vysya Setu mobile app
- Go to Settings (tap your profile picture)
- Scroll down to Account Settings
- Tap Delete Account
- Read the warning carefully
- Enter your password to confirm
- Tap Permanently Delete Account
Option 2: Email Request
If you cannot access the app, email us:
- Email: support@vysyasetu.com
- Subject: Account Deletion Request
- Include:
- Your registered email address
- Phone number associated with the account
- Reason for deletion (optional)
We will process your request within 7 business days.
What Happens When You Delete Your Account
Immediate Effects
✅ Deleted Immediately:
- Your profile becomes inaccessible
- You are logged out of all devices
- Your name is removed from member directory
- Active connections are severed
- Your subscription is cancelled
- Access to premium features ends
Data Retention (30 Days)
⏰ Temporarily Retained (Recoverable for 30 days):
- Account data is suspended but not permanently deleted
- You can reactivate within 30 days by logging in
- After 30 days, deletion becomes permanent
Permanently Deleted (After 30 Days)
🗑️ Cannot Be Recovered:
- Profile information and photos
- Personal details and preferences
- Connection lists and messages
- Business listings
- Event registrations
- Activity history
What We Keep
📋 Retained for Legal/Business Purposes:
- Transaction records (tax compliance, 7 years)
- Support tickets and correspondence (3 years)
- Fraud prevention data (as required by law)
- Aggregated, anonymized analytics data
These retained records cannot be linked back to you and comply with applicable laws.
Before You Delete
Consider These Alternatives
⚠️ Deactivate Instead of Delete:
- Temporarily hide your profile
- Pause subscription without losing data
- Reactivate anytime without data loss
- Go to: Settings > Account > Deactivate Account
⚠️ Adjust Privacy Settings:
- Limit profile visibility
- Manage who can contact you
- Control what information is shared
- Go to: Settings > Privacy
⚠️ Cancel Premium Subscription:
- Keep your free account
- Cancel premium features only
- No refunds for partial months
- Go to: Settings > Subscription > Cancel
Important Considerations
❌ Cannot Be Undone (After 30 Days)
Once the 30-day grace period expires, deletion is permanent. We cannot recover:
- Your profile data
- Connections and messages
- Business listings
- Premium membership benefits
💰 No Refunds
- Account deletion does not entitle you to refunds
- Unused premium time is forfeited
- Outstanding payments remain due
- Cancel subscription before deletion to avoid future charges
📧 Email Still Registered
- Your email and phone number are permanently blocked from re-registration for 90 days
- This prevents accidental re-registration
- After 90 days, you can create a new account with the same email
🔗 Third-Party Accounts
If you signed in with Google, Facebook, or Apple:
- Vysya Setu access is removed
- Your Google/Facebook/Apple account remains active
- No data is deleted from those platforms
- You may need to revoke access manually in those accounts
Data Download (Before Deletion)
Request Your Data
Before deleting, you can download a copy of your data:
- Go to: Settings > Privacy > Download My Data
- Select data categories:
- Profile information
- Photos and media
- Connections and messages
- Business information
- Activity history
- Tap Request Download
- Receive download link via email (within 48 hours)
- Download expires after 7 days

Cancelling Deletion (Within 30 Days)
Changed your mind? You can recover your account:
How to Reactivate
- Open the Vysya Setu app
- Log in with your email and password
- Tap Reactivate Account
- Your account is restored immediately
All your data, connections, and settings will be restored.

Q: How long does deletion take? A: Immediate deactivation, permanent deletion after 30 days.
Q: Can I delete my account but keep my business listing? A: No, business listings are tied to personal accounts and will be deleted together.
Q: What happens to my messages? A: Your messages are deleted from your account. Other users may still see their copy of conversations, but your identity is removed.
Q: Will my reviews and posts be deleted? A: Posts and reviews may remain visible as “Deleted User” for community context, but your identity is removed.
Q: Can I use the same email to create a new account? A: Not for 90 days. After 90 days, the email becomes available for new registration.
Q: What happens to my premium subscription? A: Automatically cancelled. No refunds for unused time. Cancel subscription before deletion to avoid next billing cycle.
Q: Is there a cool-down period? A: Yes, 30 days. You can reactivate anytime during this period.
Q: What if I can’t log in to delete my account? A: Email support@vysyasetu.com with your account details. We’ll verify and process the request.
Q: Can I transfer my account to someone else? A: No, accounts are non-transferable. The other person must create their own account.
Q: What data do you keep after deletion? A: Only what’s required by law (transaction records, tax documents) and anonymized analytics. Personal identifiable information is deleted.
